Clothes suitable on a rainy day
Its that time of the year. Yes!!! Its the rainy season. Are you bothered about the outfit to wear on a rainy day. Follow these few tips and stress no more.
Wear clothes that you are comfortable in. You need to be as comfortable as possible so that you can have a great rainy day. Wool are advisable for rainy weather because they are always warm, light and strong.
Have an umbrella ready on. Do not invest a fortune on an umbrella since the tendency of losing it is high and its not used on a regular basis. If you feel uncomfortable with an umbrella, you can substitute with a waterproof jacket. This way, you don't have to bother about losing the umbrella and getting drenched in the rain.
Rainy seasons can really be depressing. Try out fun colours. Colours that brighten your day and lifts your mood. Work you way around outfits that prevent you from caching a cold and bring out the fun person that you are.
Accessorize. This does not mean that you should wear heavy and pronounced jewelleries. Why not work around scarfs, head warmers, rubber boots or rubber footwear?
You can wear dresses, shirts, pants, skirts, T-shirts and others. Most importantly, make sure you are comfortable.

Foods that help fight Rheumatoid Arthritis
If you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA), inflammation can be one of the most painful symptoms. Although, there are no food to avoid, certain fruit and spices are advised in easing inflammation and help you feel better overall.
PINEAPPLE
With its tuft of spiky, dusty green leaves and cross-hatched, golden orange skin, the pineapple is spiny from the outside and sweet on the inside. This popular tropical fruit contains immune-boosting vitamin C. It also provides a key enzyme called bromelain, which is chock-full of anti-inflammatory substances that can help reduce joint swelling linked to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Fresh fruits are better than the canned or bottled processed juice.
GINGER
This root-like portion of a tall, reed-like plant has been used for centuries as a folk-medicine inflammation-fighter. Over the past several decades, researchers have confirmed that ginger possesses chemical qualities that appear to curb inflammation. Sliced or chopped ginger adds zest to a variety of foods and beverages, including stews, soups, pancakes, tea, etc. Fresh ginger packs the most punch, but it’s also available in bottled and powdered form.
TUMERIC
This golden-coloured spice has been popular since ancient times, especially in Indian cooking. It’s also been a spice like ginger and garlic. Turmeric’s secret ingredient is curcumin. This component of the spice helps shut down certain proteins in the body that trigger inflammation. Try using turmeric during cooking.
Could they be symptoms of Rhematoid Arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a long-lasting autoimmune disorder that primarily affects joints. It typically results in warm, swollen, and painful joints. Pain and stiffness often worsen following rest. Most commonly, the wrist and hands are involved, with the same joints typically involved on both sides of the body. The disease may also affect other parts of the body. This may result in a low red blood cell count, inflammation around the lungs, and inflammation around the heart
Arthritis means inflammation in a joint. That inflammation causes redness, warmth, swelling, and pain within the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis affects joints on both sides on both sides of the body, such as both hands, both wrists, or both knee. This symmetry helps to set it apart from other types of arthritis. RA can also affect the skin, eyes, lungs, heart, blood, or nerves. The warning signs of RA are: joint pain, swelling, stiffness (especially after sitting for a long time), fatigue. Although, RA affects everyone in different ways, some people don't usually have the symptoms.

5 foods you should not eat on a first date
People feel shy on first dates and do not know how to behave, act or even carry his or herself. You need help with what to wear, how to sit, how to walk and most especially what to eat during the date. These are the 5 foods that you are advised not to eat on a first date. This is not an advise that you should pretend but you do not want to look funny to him or her while eating. Remember, first impression lasts longer. You can eat them subsequently after the bond or relationship has been made.
SPAGETTI
This is also known as pasta. As delicious as spaghetti may come across, you should not eat it on a first date unless you are sure you can control your cutlery to prevent having the sauce all over you mouth. Imagine staring at this cute guy you have been crushing on all along, have spaghetti sauce all over his mouth on a first date. You may think of this as cool but sincerely you know it is disgusting.
BURGER
Hmm... Delicious. Treating a date out to McDonald seems like the best to create a casual relationship but trust me it could come back and bite you in the ass. Having a burger doesn't seem as a bad idea on a normal day, but it is a terrible idea on a first date especially with a lady you intend having a long time relationship with. It would be uncomfortable to tell her that she has lettuce in between the teeth or cream on her mouth. Please postpone the burger to he second or third date.
BEANS
This is a meal highly nutritious in protein. It contains a high level of melanin which is needed, in adequate measure, for the body. It is also a no-go area for the meal on a first date. It also makes people "pollute the air"(fart). After the consumption of this healthy meal, the individual will have little or no control of the air released through his anus. Please avoid having this meal on a first date.
CRAB
Don’t order anything that requires a lot of man-handling, it’s just not attractive. It’s difficult to look at someone romantically as you’re tearing apart a sea creature with your bare hands. That is so unromantic. You would look like a monster. Do not have crabs as part of the meal on a first date.
ONION OR GARLIC
This is a given. Don’t eat anything particularly pungent at the risk of having bad breath for the rest of the night. Onion and Garlic are known for their pungent smell. They leave bad breath after consumption. Don't irritate your date.

Ugly Truth about your Tooth brush
The toothbrush is an oral hygiene instrument used to clean the teeth and gums that consists of a head of tightly clustered bristles mounted on a handle, which facilitates the cleansing of hard-to-reach areas of the mouth.
Toothpaste, which often contains fluoride, is commonly used in conjunction with a toothbrush to increase the effectiveness of tooth brushing. Toothbrushes are available with different bristle textures, sizes and forms. Most dentist recommend using toothbrush labelled "soft", since hard bristled toothbrushes can damage tooth enamel and irritate the gums.
It is not recommended to share toothbrushes with others since besides general hygienic concerns there is a risk of transmitting diseases that are typically transmittable by blood, such as Hepatitis C.
After use it is advisable to rinse the toothbrush with water, shake it off and let the toothbrush dry.
Bent and worn out bristles of a toothbrush lead to decreased cleaning efficiency. It is therefore recommended to change it for a new one when it appears to be worn out (roughly after 6–16 weeks).
Do You Know What's Lurking on Your Toothbrush?
Your toothbrush is home to more than 100 million bacteria including E. coli and staphylococci (Staph) bacteria, according to researchers at the University of Manchester in England. And the University of Alabama at Birmingham found that fecal germs were on your toothbrushes too.All that sounds gross, but you needn't panic. Your mouth is also full of bacteria and your toothbrush probably won't make you sick, but there are ways to keep it clean so you stay healthy.
Most of these germs already exist in your mouth so you probably won't get sick from them. However, if others use your toothbrush (or you use someone else's) germs can be spread.
The thing to worry about is recurring illness. "When your resistance is low, that's when this becomes clinically important," he says. "In essence, you are re-infecting yourself," says Glass.
Could Your Toothbrush Be Making You Sick?
You probably won't get an infection from your own toothbrush. Even if your brush is covered in bacteria, your immune system can usually take care of any bacterial invaders. However, you should still care for your toothbrush properly and keep it clean. The following slides discuss some ways to care for and store your toothbrush properly to minimize the chance of illness.Don't Brush Where You Flush
Where you store your toothbrush in your bathroom is important. In most bathrooms, the toilet is very close to the sink, where most people keep their toothbrushes. Every time you flush, bacteria are released into the air – and you don't want that bacteria to get on your toothbrush."It's just common sense to store your toothbrush as far away from the toilet as possible," says McCombs. Keep it in a medicine cabinet if possible, and always close the toilet lid before flushing to minimize the spread of bacteria onto your toothbrush.
Toothbrush Holders
Toothbrush holders as well can pick up bacteria that are spread by toilet flushing. A study by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) found that toothbrush holders are the third-most germy household items (behind dish sponges and kitchen sinks). Remember to clean your toothbrush holder regularly to remove germs.Toothbrush Storage Tips
After you've moved your toothbrush as far from the toilet as possible, and cleaned your toothbrush holder, here are some storage tips to keep your toothbrush as germ-free as possible:- Rinse your toothbrush thoroughly with tap water every time you use it.
- Let your toothbrush dry thoroughly between brushings. Don't use toothbrush covers, which can create a moist enclosed breeding ground for bacteria.
- Keep your toothbrush upright in a holder, rather than lying it down.
- Don't ever use anyone else's toothbrush, or let someone use yours.
- Keep toothbrushes separate. If toothbrushes touch they can swap germs.

Health: do not joke with headaches
Headache, also known as cephalalgia, is the symptom of pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. It occurs in migraines, tension-type headaches, and cluster headaches. Frequent headaches can affect relationships and employment. There is also an increased risk of depression in those with severe headaches. Headaches can occur as a result of many conditions whether serious or not. There are a number of different classification systems for headaches. The most well-recognized is that of the International Headache Society. Causes of headaches may include fatigue, sleep deprivation, stress, the effects of medications, the effects of recreational drugs, viral infections, common colds, head injury, rapid ingestion of a very cold food or beverage, and dental or sinus issues.
Treatment of a headache depends on the underlying cause, but commonly involves pain medication. Some form of headache is one of the most commonly experienced of all physical discomforts.
About half of adults have a headache in a given year. There are the primary and secondary headaches.
PRIMARY HEADACHE
90% of all headaches are primary headaches. Primary headaches usually first start when people are between 20 and 40 years old. The most common types of primary headaches are migraines and tension-type headaches. They have different characteristics. Migraines typically present with pulsing head pain, nausea, photophobia (sensitivity to light) and phonophobia(sensitivity to sound). Tension-type headaches usually present with non-pulsing "bandlike" pressure on both sides of the head, not accompanied by other symptoms. Other very rare types of primary headaches include:
- cluster headaches: short episodes (15–180 minutes) of severe pain, usually around one eye, with autonomic symptoms (tearing, red eye, nasal congestion) which occur at the same time every day. Cluster headaches can be treated with triptans and prevented with prednisone, ergotamine or lithium.
- trigeminal neuralgia: shooting face pain
- hemicrania continua: continuous unilateral pain with episodes of severe pain. Hemicrania continua can be relieved by the medication indomethacin.
- primary stabbing headache: recurrent episodes of stabbing "ice pick pain" or "jabs and jolts" for 1 second to several minutes without autonomic symptoms (tearing, red eye, nasal congestion). These headaches can be treated with indomethacin.
- primary cough headache: starts suddenly and lasts for several minutes after coughing, sneezing or straining (anything that may increase pressure in the head). Serious etiologies(see secondary headaches red flag section) must be ruled out before a diagnosis of "benign" primary cough headache can be made.
- primary exertion headache: throbbing, pulsatile pain which starts during or after exercising, lasting for 5 minutes to 24 hours. The mechanism behind these headaches is unclear, possibly due to straining causing veins in the head to dilate, causing pain. These headaches can be prevented by not exercising too strenuously and can be treated with medications such as indomethacin.
- primary sex headache dull, bilateral headache that starts during sexual activity and becomes much worse during orgasm. These headaches are thought to be due to lower pressure in the head during sex. It is important to realize that headaches that begin during orgasm may be due to a subarachnoid haemorrhage, so serious causes must be ruled out first. These headaches are treated by advising the person to stop sex if they develop a headache. Medications such as propranolol and diltiazem can also be helpful.
- hypnic headache: moderate-severe headache that starts a few hours after falling asleep and lasts 15–30 minutes. The headache may recur several times during night. Hypnic headaches are usually in older women. They may be treated with lithium.
SECONDARY HEADACHE
Headaches may be caused by problems elsewhere in the head or neck. Some of these are not harmful, such as cervicogenic headache (pain arising from the neck muscles). Medication overuse headache may occur in those using excessive painkillers for headaches, paradoxically causing worsening headaches. More serious causes of secondary headaches include:
- meningitis: inflammation of the meninges which presents with fever and meningismus, or stiff neck
- bleeding inside the brain (intracranial hemorrhage)
- subarachnoid hemorrhage (acute, severe headache, stiff neck WITHOUT fever)
- ruptured aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, intraparenchymal hemorrhage (headache only)
- brain tumor: dull headache, worse with exertion and change in position, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Often, the person will have nausea and vomiting for weeks before the headache starts.
- temporal arteritis: inflammatory disease of arteries common in the elderly (average age 70) with fever, headache, weight loss, jaw claudication, tender vessels by the temples, polymyalgia rheumatica
- acute closed angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyeball): headache that starts with eye pain, blurry vision, associated with nausea and vomiting. On physical exam, the person will have a red eye and a fixed, mid dilated pupil.

APPLES: Eat sensibly
Apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. They are of different species and are family of the rose plant known for its delicious, pomaceous fruit. Apples are one of the healthiest foods a person can eat. They are high in fiber and vitamin C, and they are also low in calories. They have only a trace of sodium, and no fat or cholesterol.
It's a wonder that we find different colours of apples in the market or stores. There are many lower classifications of apples. There are different shades of red, green and yellow.
Eating an apple a day is healthy but taking all day to eat it may damage the teeth. Experts have recommended that cutting apples into smaller pieces before eating and chewing with the back of teeth can prevent exposing the front teeth from some chemicals. They also recommend rinsing the mouth with water to help wash away the acid and sugars.
Apple seeds are also called pips. According to Tim Sharp, a reference editor, they contain a substance called amygdalin, which can release cyanide, a powerful poison, when it comes into contact with digestive enzymes. Whole seeds will pass through your digestive system relatively untouched, but if you chew the seeds you may be exposed to the toxins. One or two will not be harmful, as the body can handle small doses of cyanide, but if you or a child chews and swallows a lot of seeds, you should seek medical attention immediately.
According to Flores, eating apples in excess will not cause many side effects, but as with anything eaten in excess, apples may contribute to weight gain. Furthermore, apples are acidic, and the juice may damage tooth enamel. A study published in 2011 in the Journal of Dentistry found that eating apples might be up to four times more damaging to teeth than carbonated drinks.

Outfits for the Big, Bold and Beautiful
Every woman is beautiful irrespective of her shape, size, colour, structure or religion. One needs to understand certain tips required to wear outfits that compliment the body shape. This article is for the big, bold and beautiful.
Some find it difficult in choosing outfits that suit them, some call the end result a 'disaster'. Here are some tips to help in avoiding a 'disaster' and pulling off a new or improved you.
Appreciate dresses more. Go for clothes especially dresses of darker colours. One can lean towards brighter colours afterwards. Dark coloured outfits compliment big bodies compared to darker colours.
Wear free knee-length dresses. Opt for knee-length or long to shorter dresses to avoid unnecessary illusions. Also, wear wraps that separate the upper body from the lower body just under the bust. This works for all big, bold and beautiful especially if you have big belly.
Avoid high neck and turtle neck. High neck emphasizes on the size of the bust, making them look bigger than they really are. You don't want the upper part if your body looking bigger than the lower part.
Whenever you wear a fitting outfit that displays and emphasizes on your curves, it shouldn't be too tight that it gives you additional unattractive curves. Also wear medium to long sleeves more often. Short sleeves and sleeveless are cute but wearing them often may become unattractive on you.
When slaying trousers, rock boot cut or pant trousers. Tight jean may appear awkward and reduce your confidence. Jegging and leggings may be suitable after confidence has been built.
Remember, the way you dress determines how you are addressed.

LIP CONTOUR: The New Make up Trend
Towards the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, lip contouring has become the habit of trend setters. Lip contour or Kylie Jenner lip is all about faking big and voluptuous lips in making them look as natural as possible. Today, professional make-up artists contour the lips of their client. There are a few products you can use in achieving this look with these few steps.
STEP 1
Using a lip liner similar to the natural lip colour, mark points on the cupid bow downwards, the inner brackets of your lips and the mid section of your lower lip.
After making the points, line the entire lips as you would normally.
STEP 2
Mix in lip balm and lip gloss on your upper and lower lips. There are make-up products that serve as lip plumper but peppermint oil can be used.
STEP 3
Contour the lip. Using a concealer a shade lighter, dab on the mid-section and blend outward as done when creating the ombre look. Highlight the top of the cupid bow with concealer.
Always add lip gloss irrespective of the shade or colour used for the lip. The gloss illuminates the lips making them look bigger.
These 3 simple steps may not give you the perfect Kylie Jenner lip but it will be an improvement and enhance your natural lip beauty.
Remember, do NOT over line your lips to prevent being classified as a clown. Practice makes perfect.

Foods for healthy weight loss
OATMEAL
Oatmeal is a naturally low-fat, high-fiber food and an excellent choice for your daily breakfast. Unlike oatmeal, other foods change as often as health trends change. This whole-grain powerhouse has been packing serious nutrition and hearty flavor into breakfast for generations. It’s one of the few comfort foods that are as good for you as they are just plain good.
To get the most out of this super food, be a bit particular by adding fresh fruit that provide both flavor and a health boost, especially if you choose a banana. This provides additional nutrients and a number of essential vitamins and minerals. Bananas also contain abundant soluble fiber, as does oatmeal. The combination of these two foods regularly can be a simple and easy way to increase the health benefits of your breakfast and loose weight around your belly area.
NUTS
A nut is a fruit composed of a hard shell and a seed, which is generally edible. Many nuts are good sources of vitamin E, vitamin B2, folate, fiber, and the essential minerals magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and selenium. Nuts are most healthy in their raw unroasted form.
Nuts may be high in fat, but it's the good kind. And they are also rich in nutrients, protein, and fiber, which can help stabilize blood sugar. You might get a few extra grams of fat from munching on a handful of nuts, but it's worth it if it helps you avoid reaching for cookies or other sweets. Even peanut butter can be wonderful. Researchers have discovered that people who ate a handful of nuts a day were slimmer and even lived longer. Examples of nuts are walnut, almond, groundnut, peanut, pecan, ogbono, coconut, melon seed, cashew nut, etc.
LEGUMES
Lentils, beans, cowpeas, moringa, soybean are basic examples of legumes and are helpful in loosing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Also, Legumes are an excellent source of resistant starch which is broken down by bacteria in the large intestine to produce short-chain fatty acids used by intestinal cells for food energy.
VEGETABLES
Vegetables can be eaten either raw or cooked and play an important role in human nutrition, being mostly low in fat and carbohydrates, but high in vitamins, minerals and fiber. Many governments encourage their citizens to consume plenty of fruit and vegetables, five or more portions a day often being recommended.
A vegetable is any part of a plant that is consumed by humans as food as part of a savory meal.
Examples of vegetables include; cabbage, lettuce, tomato, sweet potato, yam, peas, spinach, onion, garlic, pepper, etc.
CITRUS FRUITS
Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits, in addition to tangerines and pomelos. Not only are the citrus fruits in this diverse group delicious and refreshing, they earn their definition of an all-star food because they contain compounds called flavonoids, which may have anti cancer properties.
Citrus fruits are also high in vitamin C, and are good sources of folate and thiamin. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and protects the body from damaging free radicals. It is also required for the synthesis of collagen, which helps wounds heal and helps hold blood vessels, tendons, ligaments and bone together. Folate is necessary for cell division and DNA synthesis. Thiamin is a B vitamin important in metabolism.
The vitamin C in citrus fruit strongly enhances the absorption of iron in food. Vitamin C binds to iron in the digestive tract and the iron-vitamin C complex is absorbed together.

Consume a lot of healthy fruits. Avoid under-ripe and over-ripe fruits. Fruits are a great source of vitamins. Fruits help the body system regulate properly.
Vegetables should be eaten often than occasionally. Veggies are roughages which helps the body system.
Drink a lot of water. Water does a lot of wonders in the body system. When taken in little amount, it can cause the skin to shrink. Water also helps to keep the body hydrated.
Mind the amount of sugar you consume on a daily basis. The more sugar you consume, the more possibility you are making for yourself to be obese. The excess sugar turns into fat. This leads to the excess fat in the body.
